Why Progressive Motility (PMSCs) Matters More Than Basic Sperm Count

The SwimCount™ sperm quality test kit is a unique, advanced sperm quality screening test kit, for use at home.

The sperm test was developed by fertility scientists in Denmark, and gives men information crucial about sperm quality (motility), and the number of healthy sperm available for a successful conception, rather than just a simple total sperm count.

SwimCount is CE certified, registered with MHRA, and calibrated to the WHO Standard for sperm quality.

Most supermarket sperm test kits will only tell you if the total amount of sperm is normal, but there's a risk that a 'normal' result with these simple test could leave you believing that all is OK, but in fact, the sperm cells may be defective or damaged, and unable to result in a successful conception.

Clinically Proven: 96% Lab Accuracy Calibrated to WHO Standards

SwimCount™ has a sensitivity of 98% and specificity of 95% when compared with hospital laboratory semen analysis for the measurement of progressive motile sperm cells (PMSCs). The overall laboratory accuracy is 96%.

How to Use The SwimCount Sperm Quality Test And Interpret Your Results

Using the SwimCount test is simple, quick and reliable

  1. Collect your semen sample in the disposable cup provided and leave for 30 minutes to liquefy - this helps the sperm cells to move through the device later on
  2. Add 0.5mL of semen to the SwimCount device with the disposable syringe provided and push the slider forwards
  3. Wait 30 minutes then pull the slider all the way back
  4. Read your result within 5 minutes

Next Steps

Follow-up information is provided with your test kit. Always speak with your pharmacist or doctor if you are concerned about your health. SwimCount is a screening test for motile sperm cells as a contributor of male infertility, and is not intended as a check for vasectomy.
